Organization: Technical University of Denmark (DK)
Major Fields of Research/Activity: High throughput Screening and Adaptive Laboratory Evolution
- What is your role in the YAF project? What are you currently working on within the scope of YAF?
I develop screening and evolutionary workflows to identify new superior yeast with enhanced robustness and productivity on waste-derived substrates, enabling efficient production of SAF precursors.
- Why do you think the YAF research is important for your career development and how it will impact the society?
YAF lets me grow as a scientist in synthetic biology and bioprocessing while contributing to cleaner aviation fuels that reduce COâ‚‚ emissions and foster a sustainable bio-based economy.
- What or who inspired you to go into academia/research?
The idea of harnessing nature’s principles to solve global challenges inspired me to pursue this research topic.
- For you, what is most challenging and/or exciting about your work in YAF?
The most exciting part is linking the selective pressure of evolution to develop industrially relevant phenotypes.
- Write a catchy slogan for your IRP.
Evolving yeast, for cleaner flights
- Where can we find you after work? Doing what?
You’ll find me relaxing with good music, podcasts, or audiobooks while taking care of my plants.
