🧬Synthetic Biology of Non-Conventional Yeasts Training in Estonia

From August 4–6, YAF Doctoral Candidates gathered at TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology (YAF Partner) for an intensive three-day training focused on metabolic engineering.

The program combined theory and practice: participants deepened their knowledge in molecular and synthetic biology, genotyping, phenotype screening, strain characterization, and genome-scale modeling, while also gaining hands-on experience with plasmid preparation and transformation techniques.

Beyond the lectures, the training created space for open discussions where researchers could exchange both their scientific successes and challenges in an informal setting. The group also explored the history of Tallinn and enjoyed traditional Estonian cultural activities.

This event not only strengthened scientific expertise but also fostered collaboration and cultural exchange, making it a memorable step forward for the next generation of synthetic biology researchers.
