Last week, Nikita Sarkov (DC7 at Åbo Akademi University), took part in the International Conference on Renewable Resources & Biorefineries (RRB2025), held in Turku, Finland.
At the conference, Nikita presented a poster showcasing his research on the catalytic hydrocracking of oleic acid for the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) precursors. His current work focuses on Ni- and Ru-based catalysts supported on Beta zeolites, aiming to develop efficient deoxygenation and cracking strategies. Additional catalyst systems are also being explored as part of his ongoing research.
Beyond the presentation, Nikita enjoyed engaging with researchers and experts from around the world, exchanging ideas and insights on advancing sustainable technologies.
