On 25–26 September 2025, Marta Yabar (DC9 of the YAF MSCA DN at BBEPP) participated in the 3rd International Conference & Expo on Biofuels and Bioenergy in Vienna, Austria, delivering an oral presentation on her PhD research within the YAF project.
Her talk focused on the development of sustainable downstream processing strategies for microbial oil extraction, a promising source of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) precursors. She shared insights on the screening of different cell-disruption methods and the use of greener solvent systems, underscoring their potential to reduce environmental impact.
Marta highlighted how her work contributes to YAF’s broader mission of creating efficient, scalable, and environmentally responsible processes for the production of SAF, advancing the transition to more sustainable air transport solutions.
