Ishtiak Chowdhury (DC2 at CIEMAT) was selected to attend the Green ERA-Hub Summer School 2025, hosted by CIHEAM Bari.
During this enriching program, Ishtiak presented a poster showcasing his PhD research as part of the poster walk session. He also actively participated in two targeted workshops designed to support early-stage researchers:
- How to Make Progress in Your PhD: Key Strategies for Advancement
- Career Opportunities: Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions
The summer school offered a well-rounded experience that combined academic sessions with practical field learning. Ishtiak joined two field excursions: one to a monumental olive grove affected by bacterial infection, and another to an organic farm, where participants explored local agricultural practices and sustainable farming innovations.
Additionally, the program included guided tours of the CIHEAM Bari laboratories and a series of thought-provoking keynote lectures on topics including hydrology, agriculture, and environmental management.
This experience provided valuable exposure to interdisciplinary research and fostered meaningful discussions around sustainability, career development, and innovation in agri-environmental sciences.
