Major Fields of Research/Activity: Genetic and metabolic engineering
- What is your role in the YAF project? What are you currently working on within the scope of YAF?
I’m Doctoral Candidate 3, developing genetic tools to simplify microbial engineering. The aim is to produce fatty acids as precursors for sustainable aviation fuels and help accelerate the transition to greener alternatives in air travel.
- Why do you think the YAF research is important for your career development and how it will impact the society?
YAF provides the opportunity to work with top experts and conduct original research with strong support. It also offers training in both technical and soft skills. By advancing knowledge in the field of sustainable aviation fuels, we hope to help make air travel more environmentally responsible and resilient for the future.
- What or who inspired you to go into academia/research?
I’ve always been very curious about how the natural world functions, especially at the microscopic level, which inspired me to pursue research.
- For you, what is most challenging and/or exciting about your work in YAF?
The most exciting and challenging aspect is being part of an innovative project where we’re breaking new ground—working on solutions that haven’t been explored before and aren’t yet found in existing literature.
- Write a catchy slogan for your IRP.
“Fueling the future with engineered microbes.”
- Where can we find you after work? Doing what?
You can find me attempting to run, experimenting with new recipes, or enjoying a museum/gallery.
